I am thinking about going to a prestigious law school. My UCLA GPA is very strong, hovering around 3.90. However, my JC GPA is only 3.6+. Since GPA is the most important thing when applying for law school, I am wondering how important is my JC GPA relative to my UCLA GPA? Will law schools decide my admission mostly on my UCLA GPA or both are very important?

I would think your UCLA GPA is more important since it represents your major courses...but congrats on doing so well!

are you a transfer student? if so then they will definitely look at JC grades. If you just took a few courses at a JC over the summer, then you may be obligated to send the transcript, but it won't weigh in much. btw, nice ucla gpa.

definitely

Wow, what's your major?

business economics with a minor in accounting

^DAMN i heard bizecon is hard. Don't worry about that 3.6, 3.9 in bizecon is rockin

exaaaaaactly

Your UC GPA factors more heavily into decisions, but you can't just "hide" your JC GPA. Just be proud of the fact that you improved your GPA AFTER transferring, which is a good thing (and rare.)

You're in good shape. Don't worry. As long as you do well on the LSAT, you've got a good shot at any of the top 14 law schools. Good luck.

wowzers...good job man!
