So basically, I did the horrible deed- I took the SAT this past June as a sophomore. I just wanted to get an idea of what the SAT was like, and little did I realize the stigma that surrounds taking the SAT at such a time. Now I'm limited as to how many times I should take it, I know, but will this really affect my chances? I know it's not a big deal for schools who don't require ALL scores (i.e. Columbia where I want to attend) but for schools that DO- how will this affect it? I mean, I made a 1900, which isn't THAT bad, but not at the level it needs to be for an Ivy or upper league school. I'm planning to take the SAT 1-2 more times and I hopefully will finally score around 2200-2300. Thanks all!

If you perform better in the future, your earlier scores will not matter.
