Hey guys, so I got a really big problem on my hands. Ok so as well all know AP exams started last week and everything and I had to take those and stuff but my english teacher assigned us an essay on hamlet that was due last friday. With my job that I work from when I get home to around 11pm and AP exams, I literally had like no time to actually do it. So the night before, I plagiarized like 71% of it which of course I do realize how absolutely terrible that is and my teacher found out and now I'm really concerned about my punishment. Here's another issue, I quite literally have 2 days of school left until I graduate and I'm afraid that
1. They'll tell my college and get my acceptance rescinded
2. I'll fail the class and have to retake it
3. I'll get suspended which I would have to report to my college
My teacher said he's going to do everything he can to ensure that nothing really bad happens and he'll give me the opportunity to redo the paper but since my punishment is all in the hands of the honor council at my school, there's really nothing drastic he can do. this is my first ever high school offense and of course it's something huge coming right before I graduate.
After a meeting today with my advisor I found out that I wont get expelled which is a huge relief. However, I do believe that this will go on my permanent record which is now my worry. I got accepted to georgia tech back in november and now that this is on my record, do you think they'll rescind the acceptance? If so I'm soooo screwed...I'm going to have at least one (possibly 2) C's on my report card as well. man I screwed this semester up big time
Also, I don't know my specific punishment yet but I have my honor council trial tomorrow during which I will plead guilty and apologize. I wont know my punishment until Wednesday or Thursday and I'll be out of school by then and have started my senior exams so I'm guessing suspension isn't a possibility?
