Will my GPA allow me to transfer?

Im looking to transfer from my current college, Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA to another school that I feel would be better for me. However the problem is, my GPA isnt that great. I came into Wilson with a 2.8 but due to some circumstances including difficult classes that I was in no way prepared for I dropped to a 2.1:( Right now I have a 2.3 and I would really like to apply to some schools before the deadline is due, but I am afraid I will be rejected due to my low GPA. I took a summer course at a public college at home and did not do too well in it either. My goal for now is to take some courses over winter break to raise my GPA and get on schedule. Due to dropping some courses I am behind on my credits as well. If I transferred I would most likely transfer in as a sophomore, or a junior if im really lucky.

Does anyone know if a school will take a low GPA like a 2.3? Im involved in clubs at school and had a decent high school record as well.

Im looking to apply to Shippensburg University, Centenary College, and Delaware Valley College.

Help please!

can anyone help?

Most schools won’t accept credits that are less than 2.0. You’ll have to check the individual schools to see what their admission rates are. The higher the rate, the more likely it is that you’ll be accepted.

Centenary has an excellent equine program. Most of their faculty are experienced professionals from within the industry. The college itself will most likely accept you. The website says they do not accept grades lower than C- for transfer credit. You would have to contact them directly to see which courses they will accept. Just be aware that Centenary has a 4 credit system. But then looking at Wilson’s course schedule, it appears that most courses are 1 credit? You would definitely have to inquire about how they would transfer.

yes, we do have a 1 credit/ .5 credit system different from most colleges. thanks!
