Will not having 4th year of FL hurt my chances at Harvard, Princeton, Yale, and Stanf

I am a foreign language teacher and department chair. Each school has a different sequence of courses. What you took at Sp III freshman year might be considered Sp II in other schools. It seems to depend on the individual school’s profile, that is, the courses that are offered in your school. This profile will go along with your transcript and the material that the school sends to the admissions committee. Some schools go up to Level VI and some just go to Level IV, for example. APs can be taken any year, as long as the appropriate work has been done. That is a standard that is recognized. So stopping after the AP means something different than stopping after Level III.
