Will OOS feel lonely, if majority of in-state students go home during the weekend? Thanks.

The majority of in-state students stay on campus during weekends. There are loads of people on campus at all times.

I second momofapplicant. I’m OOS and it’s never an issue.

Ditto from my clan.

@bornin92,
Many in-state students maybe from same HS, maybe know each other before… do you ever feel you are a “foreigner”, have been excluded?

one of my friend transferred to another HS in junior year, she told me she was not belong to any social groups, other students already knew each other for 2 years.

College is must different than high school (Thank God!)

At the beginning, freshmen may tend to hang out with people they knew from high school, just because they don’t know anyone else yet. You’ll meet people in your dorm, in your classes, and in any clubs, etc. that you get involved with. Both of my Ds made good friends with some of the “high school acquaintances” of people on their dorm floor. If you don’t hit it off right away with your roommate, you’ll meet other people. You’ll also meet people from OOS who are in the same boat as you from the very beginning.

I’m not aware of anyone on my freshman floor last year who knew each other from high school. Everyone just made new friends. There’s going to be plenty of people who either don’t know anyone or know people from their high school but only as acquaintances.
