Will Ridgecrest Refrigerators hold a Magnet?

My DD eggs me on.

We spent over two hours in World Market selecting the coverlet with just the “right” shade of chartreuse.

EVERYTHING hangs on the design of the coverlet.

TXA, last year the Container Store sold a very nice ice cube tray set. Two trays, one small receptacle to hold ice and a cover.

Two things bothered me when I stayed in RS (but not my S apparently): The mattress and the light coming through the blinds.

Any recommendations for a mattress pads and fixes for the light issue?

Mattress - You can find good memory foam matress pads at BB&B. You will be using them for a while so invest a few extra dollars for a reasonable quality one.

Light through blinds - Stay up until 2 or 3 every morning so you can sleep through anything untill noon.

At least that is how our DS managed to fight through it…

Blackout curtains. DS scotch-taped his together and to the wall so not the merest sliver of light could intrude.

So, did I read somewhere that the upholstery in RCE living rooms is muted PURPLE??? :-0

We purchased a really nice “egg crate” foam “topper” from Amazon, and then to make it even more comfortable, I found a very nicely padded “memory foam” mattress pad (remember Twin XL):

the kids may or may not be able to use the same foam mattress pad for the 4 years. they may move to a place with a double bed (both DD2’s apartments have double beds.

we got ours at overstock.

A mattress pad that must be professionally or Dry cleaned???

You’d have to have it under a washable mattress pad, wouldn’t you?

If you belong to Costco, they always have great memory foam toppers - they only sell Twin (not TXL), but that is not a problem, IMO. The matching pillows (esp w/ cooling gel) are nice, too.

We bought an XL twin 4" mattress topper from Walmart that our D used for 2 years and my son will use it this fall. It is very comfortable!

[Spa Sensations 4’’ Memory Foam Mattress Topper - Walmart.com](http://www.walmart.com/ip/Spa-Sensations-4-Memory-Foam-Mattress-Topper/4569413)

My D got a topper from Walmart as well. It’s comfy, but it was a little too short and a little too wide. The extra width resulted in it rolling off the bed on one side, gradually creeping more and more overboard. I told D to try to cut it down when she gets back to school in August. Anyone know a young man with a sawzall in his dorm room?

Now what on earth would someone have a reciprocating saw for in the dorms?! I don’t see it on the ‘banned’ list, but, still…! Strong scissors might work for trimming?

What size are the mattresses in Ridgecrest West?

The ones in Ridgecrest South are regular twin mattresses.

According to the housing website, all of Ridgecrest (east, west, and south) has twin XL mattresses. Not sure where you saw that RCS has standard twins, but I don’t think that’s right.

RCS twin mattresses are 78" long. Standard twin XL is 80" Standard regular twin is 75".

we used twinXL mattress pad and twinXL sheets in RCS.

Am I over-the-top for bringing a sewing machine for move-in? I have to make sure it is just-right! Bring on the flames . . .

Maybe I should hire-out my sewing services for those who want a “curtain” or “sham” under their bed!
