Will SAT Threshold at Top Colleges Change?

If schools accept students with lower standardized test scores, wouldn’t they need to report those and would they be concerned about looking less competitive? Also, with fewer students reporting tests, it seems like each test would have a larger impact on their final stats. Maybe colleges aren’t worried as it’s such an unusual year. Not sure what to think.

My D took the October 2019 test and scored a 1570. She has been on the fence regarding a retake (she really wanted to bring her Math score from 790 to 800) but with all the TO it doesn’t seem like it will matter much!

@RockyPA Even in normal times, your D’s score is phenomenal and there would be no need for a retake! Our school uses Scoir (used to use Naviance) and I can tell you there’s no difference in acceptances to selective schools (including HYPSM) with that score vs higher (with corresponding high grades; without high grades, that score doesn’t even show up!). She should be submitting her score despite TO.

@havenoidea she will be submitting it of course! Yes I do realize there really is
no difference once you get over 1550. It was just that so many people In her school take it numerous times that she was considering (even her guidance counselor suggested she should).
