Will starting and joining a sport junior year but playing varsity help in college admissions at all

I'm going to start swimming this year but I will be in 11th grade. I'm decent but since the school's team is really bad so I'm guaranteed to make varsity. To put it in perspective a varsity guy swam a 8 Minute 500 free.

So If I will be on varsity this year and next year will it help my college admission chances? I don't think I will be captain though since I don't talk much.

I already do Track, Academic Team, and History Club.

No more so than any other EC.

So it doesn’t make a difference if I’m in varsity compared to junior varsity? Since starting an EC junior year pretty much won’t matter to college admissions, there really is no point in joining the swim team even if I make varsity? :-/

You should join the team if you want to be on the swim team! Do you think school sports exist just to fill out the EC part of a college application?

Exactly. Join the team if that’s what you’d like, not to impress college admissions.
