Will starting out at a community college look bad to future employers?

Hi all,

I plan on majoring in finance. As of now it looks like I will attend a cc for two years because of financial issues. Will going to a cc and then transferring hurt my chances of getting a job in the future? I am asking this specifically about a finance major.

Thanks

It all depends on how well you do at the CC and to where you go for your junior and senior years and how well you do there. I can imagine someone starting out at a California CC, graduating top of their class, transferring to UC Berkeley and doing very well in their junior and senior year. If that student were applying for a job he’ll stand out. I can also imagine someone who gets mediocre grades, takes easy courses at the CC, transfers and continues on that track at a 4-year college. That person is unlikely to do well in the job market.
