Will the W from community college transfer?

Hey everyone, I am currently a sophomore student at a University in Ohio. I am taking a summer course at a local community college. I had to get this course approved before I could take it (from my University) but they do not know that I am actually taking it. I am hoping to drop the summer class as the teacher is horrible and I would rather take it at my University next year. At this point in the summer, I will receive a W and will have to pay for the class. The reason for writing this post is to ask if my University will know whether or not I got a W in this course. It's probably a silly question, but I am curious because, like I said, my University does not know that I am taking this course.

Thank you!

You’ll have to ask the registrar or dean at your university. Schools have different rules about courses taken outside the university during the summer.

A W shouldn’t affect your GPA anyway. I doubt that this will be a problem for you.
