Chance me?

chance me for the other schools too please!?

The only “bad” (and this is like, CC bad, not real-world bad) things are your GPA, which is a tad low, and your rank, which isn’t great. However, the rest of your application is strong, and coupled with your URM status, I think you’ve got a decent chance at UNC, although I wouldn’t call it a match. More like a low-reach.

As for the other schools, I’d say that you have a really good chance at them.

-Duke - A bit tougher than UNC, but still a decent shot. (Low reach)
-UVA - This is a weird one. Anecdotally, people from my school have consistently gotten into Ivies and rejected by UVA. It’s fairly competitive for OOS, so who knows.
-Georgetown - Again, another competitive school, and although your GPA is lower than the average, you have an ok shot. (Low to mid reach)
-Emory - In
-UMDCP - In
-Lehigh - Probably In
-James Madison - In
-UMich - Probably In
-Boston College - Probably In
-Berkley - Competitive, especially for OOS. Make sure financial aid isn’t an issue, too.
-George Macon - In
-Northwestern - Very competitive, and a reach. (Mid Reach)
-Syracuse

-Columbia - REACH
-UPenn - REACH
-Brown - REACH

These last 3 are reaches for everyone, and your GPA isn’t so hot, so I wouldn’t bet on anything. That’s not to say you don’t have a shot - you certainly do - but it may be lower than some of the top applicants.

Again, you have a great profile, except for your GPA. Is there a significant upward trend in your grades? If so, that will help. Also, does your school rank? I, too, go to a very competitive school (think, top 10 in the nation) and I know that we, along with many other top schools, don’t rank at all.

I think the above poster is overestimating your chances at UNC, Duke, and Emory (If I were you, I’d make sure to apply to Emory’s Oxford College), primarily because of your SAT score. I was rejected from UNC instate with a 2120.

Actually, you may not qualify for admission to UNC. The University of North Carolina System minimum admissions requirements include two math courses beyond Algebra II ([Course & Admission Requirements](http://www.northcarolina.edu/aa/admissions/requirements.htm)).

This is really going to be a detriment to your application, regardless of how competitive your school is.

My life is over.
