In my previous thread, someone named drexter suggested to read some good literature books to get the reading speed up. I don't think it will help as he is really dumb in this suggestion. Will it really help? I've completed 18 CR tests but most of them are non official plus I didn't go through answer explanetions. How dumb it is that he suggested me to read the classic literature. LOL. Can some experienced people suggest me?

I’m sorry but why do you expect anyone to help you out? It seems like you don’t appreciate it it when people attempt to assist you, as can be seen by you calling this user “dumb,” even though all he was doing was try to help you. Get off your high horse and control your contemptious remarks.

And btw, it is widely known that reading literature is one of the BEST things you can do to improve your Critical Reading score. So you were wrong about that.

^ I agree. Reading classical literature would definitely help critical reading, but it takes time. Doing practice test without checking the answers and explanations would be the dumbest idea. It is a waste of time and you loose a chance to improve your score. ;-)

Huh! The world has changed a lot. You give some people good idea and they tend to insult you. Okay, classic literature does help but it won’t in overnight. You’ll need minimum 2 months of extensive reading with CR practice before you can even score 720~740. And not checking answer expl. is the most stupid thing I’ve seen in this forum. So, maybe I’m dumb but you’re the dumbest person.

@drexter
i said it a dumb idea because it will take more than 6 months to get 760+ but i’ve only 4 months. Can I get 760+ from my score in 4 months? I don’t get enough time to read the whole paragraph.

What can a slow reader do to improve reading speed? You need to read more and improve your vocab. Would you expect a big improvement within 4 months? It may be hard. To get 760+ in 4 months would be even harder. My daughter reads tons of books every week since kindergarten and she is definitely a fast reader, and yet she did not get 760+. The idea is definitely not dumb if you planned ahead much earlier. You know who should be blamed.

^what should I do now? Just follow this plan and read a ton? I don’t know but I can give 2~2.5 hours/day for reading. I’ve a long gap of 4 months as I don’t have to go to school. Just plain 4 months to get ready for Critical reading.

I think that with your poor command of the English language there’s not really much hope for you.

You should have paid more attention in English class. Now it’s probably too late. But don’t fret. The world needs ditch diggers too.

^ stop making such stupid comments. Yes OP is somewhat arrogant, but doesn’t need to be do that :P

With that limited time, you probably want to try to improve your vocab and do more reading comprehension. You may try to mark down the keywords as you go through the article.

Won’t 4 months be enough to get at least 720? @billcsho

I made 4 errors in SC

What is your current score?

I scored 670 in CR. But 780 in other 2 section each.

When you will practice on the official practice tests, check why you made the mistakes you made. Think what went wrong. What should you do or how should you think in order to get it right the next time. For example “I didn’t notice the main clues to the answer-> I should be more attentive to every single word the next time”, “I couldn’t understand the sentence/paragraph-> I should improve my vocabulary”, “I missed the main point of the sentence/paragraph/passage-> while reading I must always be aware of the main point, why the author is saying this, what’s his main point?”, “My chosen answer was partly wrong-> I should always make sure that every single word in the answer choice is correct”…

Remember, it’s all very straightforward if you pay attention and know the vocabulary.
