Will this hurt me at Stanford?

I live in New Haven. I have done research at Yale University and I have taken classes at Yale College. I was deferred from Yale early. Stanford is my top choice- my parents dont want me to go far so they made me apply to Yale early, and they have the BEST facilities for what I want to pursue (which is related to what I did research in and the classes I took at Yale). I have gone to extra lengths to describing my reasons for wanting to go to Stanford in the "Why Stanford" essay.

Will it hurt that I am so involved with another, competitive college? Will they assume "Oh he will just get into Yale anyway" and reject me? I'm really scared about that, as I don't know if I have a shot at Yale anymore. If it's of any importance, I have some (weak) legacy at Stanford and I have participated in research closely with a Stanford graduate.

I’m pretty sure it won’t hurt you. After all, Stanford is across the country from you, and Yale is just right there. If anything, I think it actually helps you.

Thanks. BTW I when I say that “they” have the best facilities, I mean Stanford.

No, this will absolutely not hurt you. You live in New Haven, so it makes perfect sense to do research at Yale. If you’re involved with research in high school, you’re expected to do it at the closest major research university to you.

ya this definitely won’t hurt you. the main thing to keep in mind is that the fact that it’s yale won’t really help you either.
