Will this work?

As you can tell by my username I am a huge Philadelphia Sports fan. Sadly one of my biggest concerns about college involves this. I have been accepted and will be attending Columbia University in the fall. Unfortunately for me this is New York City and I won't have the cable access to my Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, and Sixers(although less important) games. One friend of mine told me about a possible solution for this problem. A Slingbox. I may be okay with technology but I have never dealt with something like this before. My main question is if this will work and allow me to watch my sports games over the internet in my dorm or will I just be wasting my money?

go to UPenn instead?

lol, no it’s not that. I’ve always wanted to go to Columbia. I just would love to find a way to watch my sports.

I had a friend who got all of her TV channels online. I don’t know what program or device she used, though. I’ll ask. I think there’s a pretty hefty fee for using it.

As a Philly fan from CT, I would buy an online baseball package from MLB.com (for around 50 bucks per season, you could watch basically any team, any game online) and would just watch the Eagles whenever they were on TV (which was pretty often). Unfortunately, I “grew” out of sports the year before the Phillies won the WS. <_<
