Hello everyone. I am a sophomore at Marist College, in Poughkeepsie, NY. My major is Biomedical Science, and I plan on applying to medical school. I cannot afford to dorm so I live with family in the area and commute to school. However, I am honestly not really happy here and I am considering transferring to a CUNY school and moving back home. Marist is not a well known school but I guess transferring to a CUNY, probably Hunter, will still be looked at as "transferring down".

My grades are not really good. I have to work in order to be able to afford having a car to commute and living on my own. I feel that I would definitely do much better if I transferred and didnt have to work. Here are my grades:

FRESHMAN YEAR:
Biology I: C
Chem I + Lab: B-
Bio II: B-
Chem II + Lab: B
Calculus: B
Writing For College: A
First Year Seminar: A
Philosophical Perspectives: A-

SOPHOMORE YEAR (Current, still in progress)
Organic Chem- About a B- currently
Physics- About a B currently
Statistics- A currently
Technology- A currently

My overall current GPA is a 3.09. I know this is unacceptable, but it is what it is. Will transferring hurt my chances at getting into medical school, especially given my grades?

SORRY ABOUT THE REPEAT POST, I AM NEW HERE
