Its 2011, but Id say its getting more competitive to get into UCLA. For now they still have Tap, but do you think in the future things will change and they will have to make things more competitive? What do you think it will be like in 5- 10 years to transfer? Also will the tuition of UCLA become a total of 50,000 per year incuding room and housing for in state residents?

Yup! Average GPA this year was a 3.70 and will keep going up each year. The admit rate was 27.33% and will go down. I do think UCLA will continue to admit students below the average GPA, mostly for military, disadvantaged, and various unique situations.

As the budget keeps getting cut to the UCs they are taking in less students. This next year looks like a possible 150million cut and the UCs are running out of ways to save money, so they continue to shrink the number of students they accept.

Also, as the costs of privates go up, more students (esp Californian) are applying to the UCs as a more affordable option to privates.

These trends will likely continue for at least a few more years.

thank goodness jerry brown vetoed the bill.
