Will UT Austin revoke my admission?

My gpa was 3.9 but this semester will be anywhere from 3.0 to 3.7. If it is 3.0, the overall gpa may drop from 3.9 to about 3.6-3.7.

I don't think UT makes transfer decisions this early... are you speaking of freshman admissions?

Or maybe you mean the CAP program. If so, then yes, if you don't complete the requirements to their satisfaction (ie: whatever the min. GPA is) then you aren't guaranteed acceptance. You can still apply as a transfer student, however, if you're goal is Michigan, you should also try applying straight there as well.

i think once you're admitted you have to have really bad grades to have your acceptance revoked, at any school.

I have been admitted to the spring 2007 semester at UT Austin and the Fall 2007 semester at Michigan.

Actually, the UWashington did revoke admissions decisions for those who slacked off during the second semester of their senior year. Also, top privates can and will do that.

Thank you.

Zapadow, I am also applying to UT spring semester. Could you please tell me how long it took you to hear from them?
And are you a transfer student?

Thanks.

UW is a strange school. I got rejected when I applied to it during senior year but my friend got in...

and still dont understand why i got rejected. My GPA was a 3.65 and SAT of 1340. My friend GPA was a 4.0 and SAT of 960. Both my friend and I were in-state too.

I just dont see how i got rejected with my stat.

Well, UWashington uses a holistic approach to admissions, and the date on which you submitted/completed your application makes a difference.

I checked again and apparently UT rejected me. Yes...I am devastated. UT was my first choice and I thought my application was particularly strong. zapadow, since we applied for the same semester, would you mind briefly telling me your stats ( SAT/GPA/oos or in state)? I was certain my application was above the average, so such news is especially tragic for me.

anyways, good luck and I wish you all the best. Hopefully you can help me understand why they made such decision in my case.

My gpa was 3.91 in college the first year. It was only 3.1 in high school but I had nothing but "A"s the last two years. ACT was 31. Out of state transfer. They probably liked my essays, and I have had what can be termed "hardship." I was very surprised to learn I had been admitted to Texas and Michigan, especially after having been turned down by Minnesota for not having major prerequisites.
