Will Vanderbilt consider an upward trend in GPA?

i applied RD because I wanted to be able to send my mid-year transcripts. i got a 4.33 this semester, which pushed my cumulative GPA to a 3.68. i know i'm a reach already, but will vanderbilt consider this at all? im filipino from hawaii, so i know thats in my favor, and my act is 31 which is in vandy range, but i think this gpa is gonna kill any chance. will the increased gpa as well as the 4.33 senior year help me at all?

Honestly, because your stats are good, and you’re from Hawaii, I am quite confident you’ll get accepted. I went on a campus visit, and they boasted that they had students from all over the US. They would certainly see you from Hawaii and put you higher on their list. It’s not all that fair, but it’s a great hook for Vandy.

wow you really think so? haha i really hope youre right. vandy is my first choice and like my only reach.

I mean, as long as your ec’s are good, and you can, you know, pay for it, you’re most likely in.

I qualify for a lot of financial aid so if all aid is met I’ll be able to go. My ecs and essays are very good IMO. I have 3 leadership positions and experience with habitat for humanity. The only thing that kills me is my cumulative gpa.
