Will WE ALL BE UP TO THE NECK IN DEBT????

^ I have the same question.

Northwestern exactly doubled the EFC i got from FAFSA, so now my parents can't afford it :(

that 5,000 added to EFC thing happened to me.
but thankfully, the cost comes to about the same as my state schools (the UCs) ...or unfortunately. it just makes the decision harder.

I thought that NU was supposed to cover everything that was above one's EFC.

What's with all the complaints and as more accepted students reject their admission, is the amount given to others bound to increase?

^They do, but after they make their own EFC. They don't use FAFSA's...

i got screwed over too, really sucks for middle class families
EFC of 42k is ridiculous for my family
I'm actually going to the NU preview and scheduling and appointment with the financial aid office, hopefully to receive some more aid.

Are you going with your parents, ximprezax?
I want to schedule an appointment too... But eh.

I got my fin aid package today and I got an efc about 5k more than my fafsa efc, but I think its managble and I have a couple of scholarships that are worth 5k that I'm waiting to hear back from. Looks like I'm going to be a Wildcat!!!
