I’ve written all my essays and I just now realized each one is kind of about languages… My personal statement is about learning Spanish to help a woman, my why UChicago essay starts out with my interest in word etymology, and my uncommon essay is about a kid who said “All languages evolved from Latin!” and how I responded to that… will this hurt me? Should I change one of them?
I think it is fine. If you don’t get in, that won’t be the reason. It is an intellectual topic and a little off the beaten path. No problem with showing that it is your passion!
