<p>A significant percentage of Harvard's potential EA applicants will move elsewhere.</p>
<p>Pulling this figure out of my ass, I guesstimate a ~15% increase.</p>
<p>My guess is that H will be sending out a lot more likely letters to stay competitive.</p>
<p>my guess is that Yale's yield for its SCEA will drop. My other guess is that Harvard's acceptance rate will go up due to its own yield dropping a little as some students might be lured away by schools via EA or bound to other schools via ED. Still, kudos to Harvard. Yale was talking about doing the same thing a few years ago. Their motives were different however as Levin wanted to decrease the competitive nature of high school students while Harvard is trying to up its diversity.</p>
<p>I'm disappointed in Levin for not showing more enthusiasm for Harvard's move. Levin had earlier expressed his personal preference for the elimination of "all the early admissions programs." He added that it was "unrealistic" then (2002). </p>
<p>But it would seem very realistic today.</p>
