will you be sad when you leave for college?

Assuming that I’m actually going to college, no, I won’t be sad.

no because notcollege is lame.

I’m a freshman in college right now. I was miserable in the weeks before I left for college. I’m from Maryland and I’m going to school in Wisconsin and I thought that I couldn’t bear to be that far away from my family. Everything ended up going really well for me though. It’s really the initial stress of moving in and getting settled and then things just get better from there! ^-^

Nope. I cannot WAIT to get out of Nowhere, Wisconsin.
I’ll only miss a couple people, tbh.

lolololol now my comment doesn’t seem like a joke :b

I was an absolute wreck leaving for college…even though I was going to my dream school and things had worked out really well for me, I’m from a small town where I basically knew everyone.

Actually though, the knowledge that I’d be saying goodbye actually made my senior year a lot better–because I got to know people better, let them know what they meant to me, etc. kind of a “live like you were dying” thing, but less melodramatic.

The summer before I left I interned at a non-profit which I fell in love with, and it was really hard to leave that. but my friends/family and I had already begun the separation process at this point so it wasn’t as bad to leave them.

I think it helped that I had an absolutely amazing first semester so I didn’t really dwell on being homesick.

but, something to keep in mind for those of you who are sad leaving–there’s some crazy statistic out there (I forget exactly what it is) but let me just say a TON of people are in the same boat in terms of freaking out about leaving, etc. Once I got to know my college friends better I discovered that all of us had had a hard time leaving. Just don’t let homesickness bring you down your first semester. It will be there but it’s manageable by throwing yourself into your new life and not sitting around dwelling on what you left.

I can’t wait. I’ll be ecstatic. Disliked high school since freshman year, been waiting to go to college and focus on my passions for a long time. Being legal for salvia doesn’t hurt either.

95% No. 5% Yes.

@college316: i think i’ll have an experience similar to yours…

90% of me wants to leave, 10% doesn’t because I miss my friends (they’re awesome, but my school is AWFUL)

no (10char)

not at ALL. I’m dying to get out of here!

College is something I’ll approach with a mixture of trepidation and excitement, I think. I’m really looking forward to it, but I suspect the first few days will be fairly intimidating.

I will be somewhat, but I want to go to a school ranked in the top fifteen party schools. I have somehow kept this fact from my parents, and don’t think I will have much time to miss them.

no, i’ll be happy.

i can’t stand listening to my parents.

I’m not going to be sad AT ALL
