I just called them and the lady told me to just keep checking my email for any communications regarding the decision’s release date. I asked if it might be this Friday but she said they couldn’t tell anything exactly.atm.
I’m just speculating but her tone made it seem as if the decisions would be released soon but I really have no idea.
@borromini I’m pretty sure Tyng Scholarships are only for RD. I think that’s a measure to increase yield. No point in sending those out in ED.
I think that’s everyone’s guess too. @TheGreyKing mentioned that last year they posted a notification on the Wednesday just prior to let everyone know that the results would be posted in 2 days. So I think everyone’s waiting for some official word.
@Pablo13
How sure are you? Could you elaborate on why you think so? It makes a bit of sense cause it’s already past Wednesday and they still haven’t updated us. Maybe they will tomorrow though. Or maybe they’ll directly send us our decisions. It’s weird cause last year they sent out a tweet congratulating the Questbridge matches but this year they still haven’t. Maybe they’ve just started communicating less.
Is it possible that they would release decisions tomorrow without notifying applicants of the release date beforehand? Like would they still release them tomorrow even if they didn’t notify anyone ahead of time?
It’s quite possible but, really, no one can answer that. My only advice is to not get your hopes up too high. I’m gonna just assume it’s coming out next Friday so that I’m not disappointed when I don’t see an email this Friday afternoon.
I’m just a little confused. In previous years there has been a time to log in to the portal, and the notice on the website just says, “notifications will be sent tomorrow.” Does that mean they’ll be announcing decision day tomorrow, or that tomorrow is in fact decision day?
Thanks for posting that update, @Miranmcjuby! I’ve been refreshing the portal page and checking my email multiple times a day, but I never thought to check the general admissions page on the website.
Just remember depending on the number of applications overall the number admitted, deferred and denied can very a great deal in any given year; in some years many deferred applicants are ultimately admitted.
@TennisParent - I was actually wondering about that. If I get deferred, I was thinking of just going ahead and applying ED2 to my 2nd choice school. Do you know of any stats of how many deferred students get admitted in the RD round? If it’s a high %, I might want to wait it out, but if it’s still unlikely, I’d like to take advantage of the ED boost at another school.
