Williams is my first choice, but I'm not a legacy or a recruited athlete. Should I still go ED? Are there any disadvatnages/advantages (excluding financial aid and committment)

And just out of curiosity how good is Williams' bio department?

If Williams is your very first choice and you feel strongly about it (which I would think is the case), then go ED. If I remember correctly, I've read your stats, and I would say you have a very strong chance of acceptance, even as RD. ED can only help. As for financial aid, Williams is known to be quite generous with its packages and makes every effort to meet full need. The financial aid office, as are almost all administrative offices, is very personal and gives every applicant a thorough read.

Haven't taken any bio classes, but we're pretty solid all around, sciences included.

Thanks for the reply cereal. I was just wondering after I read this post on admission chances .com

"Things are getting tougher and tougher than ever at Williams. Between 200 early decision acceptances and nearly 200 "early write" acceptances, 600 available acceptances remain for nearly 6,000 applications. This means Regular Decision applicants face a 10% acceptance rate. This underscores the benefits of applying Early Decision - in this case, ED applicants are 4 times as likely to be accepted! Similar situations across the country are sure to reopen the debate about the use of early admission programs." June 2006
