Williams reduces loan expectations

Good news for low income students! Check out for the following post: http://www.williams.edu/admin/news/releases.php?id=868

awesome. thanks for info

when they say like 3900 across four years, does that mean 3900 each year or 3900 total for all for years, and is that low/good/better than some/worse than others?

3900 for all 4 years.. which is very very good... Only few colleges, Harvard, princeton can match that kind of level.

Good for Williams. AWS loses so many cross admits to HYP, sometimes due to financial aid. I know a middle class kid who loved Amherst to death (bought the sweat shirt during a pre-admit visit), liked Williams a lot, but got so much more money from HYP that the inevitable and reluctant choice boiled down to just three schools - H, Y, or P. While Williams' initiative won't make a tremendous amount of difference in the battle with HYP for desirable students, it will help some.
