Hi, trying to help my D with expectations - she has just been invited to a few OV’s knowing she is squarely in the B pool - 6’ tall but erg mid 7:30’s, AI 215-220. Would they even be inviting her if she was only a maybe? Thanks for any insights!
Coaches have more OV invites than recruiting slots, so at least some of the invitees will be maybes. While every Ivy coach wants sub-7 rowers with U19 national team experience, there just aren’t that many rowers of that caliber, ignoring whether they can also hit the requisite AI floors for admission. Ultimately the only way of knowing where you fit in the coach’s recruiting order is to ask the question during the recruiting process.
