Im an accepted student and holy cross is one of my top choices. The only thing holding me back is the location. I know worcester is the second largest city in Massachusetts and all that but there is no denying that it's a little "dead". How does the location of the town effect internship/job opportunities?

Fordham is another one of my top choices, and although Holy Cross is more challenging to get into, i personally think that an internship at JP Morgan looks a lot better then an internship at The Family Bank of Worcester or something like that.

Can anyone tell me anything so that i may get over this and have no fear in choosing Holy Cross?

HC is also only 40 miles from Boston so you can do internships in Boston and its suburbs with ease. Worcester has MBTA access to Boston with 12 trains a day.

At the accepted Students day yesterday, one of the workshops was internships and career planning. It sounded like you would be able to do an internship in NYC, or any place that you would want to do so. It actually sounded like there were great opportunities.

I attended accepted student day too … the washington internship program has great contacts… some memtioned were MSNBC, Chris Matthews, Al Gore and of course the president’s speech writer is a grad … Plus they are linked with John Kerry who is in MA …
so a lot of heavy weight connections!
