If one doesn't like Chaos Theory, Black Holes, sorta thing, one's supposed to have a headache reading those stuffs!

sorta
-whole (I always confuse it with hole)
-sale (shops always say there a sale on everything, when in fact there is not)

"Liberal" and "conservative" should be the first to go.

So ambiguous.

since u r talking abt ambiguous, I have a question:
Does anybody know the exact meaning of 'humanity'?

I asked for the connotative meaning of it........

can't help you there. lol

(ha ha) that's why I asked for it, since even our Eng teacher couldn't give us an exact connotative meaning on that topic---we had to write an essay on that topic and she herself admitted that it wasn't really easy to define, so just seeing whether any smart CCer can adequately give the meaning :D

People write philosophical treatises on the meaning of particular words, like freedom, patriotism, and rights, not to mention Frankfurt on bulls*** http://press.princeton.edu/titles/7929.html

One word to retire is UTILIZE. It sounds bureaucratic and replaces a perfectly good word, us.

-scoop
-check
-february
-wednesday
-fetch
-maximize
-superduper

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

'anyway'!.....

mohammed asif (!) khan, no no what i meant is, i think for a system to "have" chaos, it needs to be a nonlinear dynamic system, which I don't think black holes are

I'm wondering how can black hole be linear dynamic system?! Anyway, Imran Khan (what exactly is ur last name?), let's not start the critical statements again........it's better to have another thread on it.

we need to get rid of "really" and "confront" and "totally".

Wazzapnin'.

Needs to be banished forever.

"wazzzzup!" needs to be retired, because some people insist on dwelling on 5 year old sort-of-funny tv-ads.

IRREGARDLESS. It isn't even a word. It needs to be purged from people's brains. Permanently.

ORIENTATE. The verb is to orient.

DEFINITELY. Because most people can't even spell it. Come on, the root word is *finite/I, not *finate/I.

NATION. Horribly overused, especially in America. Nationwide, across the nation, best in the nation, highest in the nation, nation this, nation that.... ugh. Stop. Please.

Even though it isn't technically a word, the following grammatical abomination is a grave threat to our way of life, and ultimately a threat to freedom itself.

STARTING A SENTENCE WITHOUT AN ARTICLE. Trouble is,..., Problem is,..., Fact is,.... -- all deplorable perversions of the English language.

As a matter of fact, nauru is sorta definitely correct (!)

YES!

Word democracy should also be killed since no one understands what the hell it means.

since, u r talking abt nation and world democracy, shouldn't we also ommit the word or atleast clarify the meaning of *'society' *? This word can be used almost EVERYWHERE, like, in any arena of discussion, and no one can exactly penalize u for doing that, so, I just feel like the meaning must be a bit more precise!
