rEdiculous of rIdiculous

Why do some people spell ridiculous as rediculous??

Many people make spelling mistakes.

I've seen that one a lot then. I was starting to think that there was a British spelling or something.

Good question. It isn't even funetiklee kurekt.

ridiculosis!

To the OP, because they think it has to with re diculousing rather than pertaining to ridicule. On the old board I'd started a thread about spelling peeves, about which I'm something of a crank. The one that drives me up the wall is "noone."

Yep. There sure are alot of spelling mistakes out there.

::sigh::

When did America decide that a lot was one word?

But the worst are incorrectly used apostrophes.

Has anyone read, Eats, Shoots & Leaves: The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation?

"Alot" is on the top of my list.

I am most annoyed by . . .

"This is the number one criteria."

My personal favorite is "irregardless."

"Definitely" seems to pose quite a challenge, as does "deferred."

I agree. A few of my friends were "deffered" from Harvard. That just defies all logic.

Actually, it's entirely too logical.

I hate it when people don't know the difference between "there," "they're," and "their." How about "threw" and "through," or "it's" and "its." AHHHHH I could go all night with this one.

How could you make it this far in life (assuming you're not hanging out with 2nd graders, and even then...) and not figure this stuff out?

I've noticed many people spelling Freshman as Froshman, is that a huge typing error or am I missing something

I'm with tebro. Whoo couldv'e posibly thaut that they or me wooldnt' get into Harvard? It's unpossible.

Well speaking of bad grammar, here's a crazy coincidence. I was just chatting on AIM with my good old friend, Alex. It starts off slow... bear with me. And I apologize in advance for our lame conversation topic (lame obviously being the word of the night).

my ultimately pet peeve is the same as frazzled's, "definately." I've seen so many people misspell it this way that sometimes it seems like that's the correct way to spell it.

my pet peeve is "wierd" uggghhh
