I wanted to ask, what would be more likely to get you out of an entry level job and into R&D or into project management as an engineer. In the long term, I'm guessing 12+ years work experience:

A Masters and 2 years less work experience, or the BS and more work experience?

It took me 7+BS to get into PM, and 12+BS+MBA to get into R&D Engineering and Project Management

I went from operations (2 years) to engineering and new process development (5 years) to project management (3 years) to greenfield design (2 years) now in R&D engineering and project management

IMO, masters level degree will probably get you 2-4 years off the front of the career and maybe a quicker advancement, putting you in Development or R&D in a management level role after 8-10 years instead of 10-12 years.

That’s my 2 cents.

Thanks for the response. Nice to hear from someone actually in the field
