Agreed. If your professor is saying you can’t pass, I’d drop it.
The only time I had a miracle was when i took microeconomics which I did poorly but my homework grade was in the 90s and exam scores was really
Low and still end up with a C
So my mom and I had a talked and I decided to stay with it. Even though I get a bad grade it won’t affect my GPA since I’m taking it at a different college and I don’t have to report or transfer the grade. My mom said I only need to submit my official transcript from SUNY Albany to grad schools. Since I basically transfer all my credits to a four year school. My mom just got accepted to grad school without needing to submit her community college transcript which had an F. This gave me hope to continue on to pursing my dream.
Your mom is wrong. When you apply to grad school, you will be required to submit ALL transcripts from ALL colleges you have attended.
It’s an online class and I’m just taking one class as a non-degreee student.
What grad school is your mom attending that doesn’t require all transcripts?
You spent 3 years at a cc. Did Albany take all of those credits? If you fail this class and don’t report it to Albany then they don’t have your entire record. Grad schools can easily tell which schools you’ve attended because they’re all listed in the National Clearinghouse. So if a college requires all transcripts, you’ll need to send all of them (including the F grades).
Your mom is wrong, When it comes to undergrad/grad school admissions, you must submit every single transcript, for every college course you have taken. It does not matter if it was online.
It does not matter if you were a high school student
It doesnot matter if you were a dual enrollment student
It does not matter if you were a non degree student
It does not matter if you did not take the course at your home college
It does not matter if it will be transferable credit
The only thing that matter is that you took a college course, you report a college course. If you don’t report it is considered willful misrepresentation that can lead to your admission being rescinded or rescinding your degree leaving you with a worthless piece of paper.
You are obligated to report all credit-bearing courses to the university where you are pursuing a degree. They get to decide it they want to award transfer credit or not, and whether or not a grade will be transferred or just credits.
Your professor told you to drop the course. So drop it. We don’t tell our students that kind of thing if we don’t think it is their best choice.
So what’s this then? If an offer of admission is accepted, a final official transcript from each institution where a degree was earned is required by September 1.
“Where a degree WAS earned”
Basically when I apply to grad school: I’ll have to submit five transcripts ?
MVCC
Morrisville state University
SUNY Albany
University of Illinois
Oklahoma state university
I can’t withdraw because my mom won’t let me. The fact that if I take this exact same class at my home institution I’ll get B or b- because professor who will teach it curves so high. So I don’t know what looks Better.
If you fail it you can retake it at Albany. You still have to send both transcripts to grad school but the grade from the failed course won’t be calculated into your Albany GPA.
I think the final transcript after acceptance is to show that you finished your bachelor’s degree.
When you apply, you need to send all of the transcripts. Period. I have seven, so it is a PITA to arrange to have all of them sent, but when it has to be done, it has to be done.
Why won’t your mom let you drop that class? Does she think you are just slacking off, and by insisting that you stick with it you will pull yourself together and finish it? Or is she just fed up with you starting classes and dropping them?
She doesn’t want me to drop because like she said I’m very privilege to have my classes paid by my dad’s job while other college students have to paid for themselves. I do agree, I’m definitely most proud I don’t have to pay anything. The only thing I have so far in debt is housing, and meal plan but I think my dad is helping paying that for me now. My professor is letting me do test corrections for both exam 1 and 2.
I already got an F in physics but when I took it in the summer I took the wrong physics. I took algebra based physics 1 instead calc based physics
Are you sure those classes are actually being paid for by your father’s employer? Most employers have a minimum grade that they will pay for, and some prorate on whatever grade the student earned. You father may have ended up paying for that F himself.
I don’t think he’s paying for the F. My dad would have told me to print my transcripts so he can send to Human Resources but that hasn’t happened.
If your dad normally sends your transcript to the HR dept. it sounds like your parents pay out of pocket and get reimbursed. If he didn’t send the transcript for the course you failed his employer didn’t pay for the course.
Guys! I got 78 on my final exam for real analysis. Got 28 on my second exam. Don’t ever give up guys!!! Final Grade: C ??? don’t ever give up guys.
Good job! Congrats!
