Working during school

Is it feasible for a Chicago student to work parttime(15-20 hours) during the week and keep up with their grades etc? Also, are there easily obtainable jobs around the campus?

You are expected to by FinAid.

can you opt out of it?

I wouldnt say you are expected to (work study awards arent that high and finaid relies a lot on SUMMER earnings) but yes, its possible. 20 is probobly more than I would want to work here as I like having time to do things.

It's not that hard though. For instance, if I wasnt so lazy (and had started earlier...) I could probobly be doing 10 hours without even noticing it. I dont have class tuesday or thursday this quarter and a lot of hte jobs let you pretty much set your own hours so its easy to fit around any schedule. Work Study (and normal, since mostly they dont care) jobs around here pay quite well since cost of living is high in chicago so its quite easy for 10 hours a week to translate into $100.

Damn...now I really am wishing I had found a little tiny job...
