Working in Sports Industry

College Majors Business Major

<p>I am interested in getting some type of job in sports industry but I've always wondered what kind of a major is good to prepare me for it. Obviously, a job in sports industry covers many areas and aspects (business, media, etc.) but I wanted to know what majors would be good for the business aspect of sports (for example, marketing, ticket sales, venue management). I've been doing a bit of a search online but haven't found much information on job in sports industry. </p>

<p>some schools offer majors in sports management
the only one i can think of right now off the top of my head is UMASS Amherst
i suggest doing some college searches on collegeboard.com
you can specify interested majors and it will come up with a list of schools with your desired major, in this case sports management.

<p>I don't think major would be as important as networking and interning in related jobs while in college.</p>
