Ahh, I just took a practice test (College Board, not Kaplan or anything) and I got a 710. I missed 26. I just reread an year’s worth of 9th grade Modern World History notes. This is so frustrating.

Well…it’s .25 off for every wrong one. If you can get an 800 with a raw score of 83 out of 90, doesn’t that mean you can miss 28? Or am I getting something wrong here???

It’s 18 to 20 points off, not 18 to 20 questions missed.

This thread is making me extremely confused.

Have we reached any consensus regarding this matter?

Batxc - no, because you lose 1.25 raw points per question missed, and 1 for omissions

To ears550 - here are some facts that have seemed to be put in question on this thread:

95 questions, not 90

According to the College Board Book, 78/95 is an 800, so you can miss 14 on that test. However, because it is graded by a curve, depending on the difficulty at each administration the curve will very. If it is very tough there is a possibility of 19-22 wrong and an 800, but not likely.

thank you! good luck every1

-20 is about right (note when people say minus 20 this is score not 20 wrong)
that means you can get 16 wrong and get an 800
in my real sat subject tests book i could get 14 wrong and get 800

note: also how accurate do you think cb tests are?
i just took one and got an 800
9 wrong 1 omit

So on the test today I omitted 8, and let’s say I got 12 other questions wrong.
That would give me a raw score of about 73… so around 740 could be an okay guess at my score?

more like 770 sounditout
also go help me compile questions people for the world history test

i took the test today
i omitted 8…
and prolly got about 15 wrong…erg
what would that be ?

Wow! So I took the June world history SATII and on the PR practice tests I scored around 650 on each. I just got my scores back today from the actual test and I got a 780!! I guess the practice tests were just a lot harder than the real thing?

Dunno I got 800 practice test and 740, so I guess we’re the opposite

I got an 800! Was so happy!

-17 to -22 is right. the SAT WH is very specific and quite challenging.
