Worried about getting Cs

As the end of the semester gets closer I’m really stressed about my grades. I try to be a good student but I struggle with focusing at times and putting the right amount of effort into my classes. This summer I switched my major and am now taking a lot harder classes and have been having some trouble adjusting. I’m worried that I may end up with a C in a four credit biology class and Cs in two one credit labs. I currently have a 3.5 GPA and really want to do well but I’m worried about the impact getting these Cs would have. Any advice?

Keep trying to do the best that you can. If you are putting in great effort and doing your best than those Cs are good enough. If you won’t fall below a GPA requirement to keep a scholarship or financial aid, then try not to worry. There are still a couple weeks, so if you aren’t trying your best, use the campus academic resources to see if you can improve before the end of the term.

All you can do is figure out what is left that will influence your final grade and do your best on that. If you can see what kind of questions have been on prior finals, make sure you are prepared. If there was something you felt you didn’t master (based on prior tests), get help and address it now.

Many students find that those next level classes, the ones after the first year ones, are really tough. Hang in there and do your best. If that’s a C, don’t sweat it.
