Worried about natural ability vs. hard work

So, I've got a bit of a problem. I find that I struggle in areas that require innate intelligence. Now, I'm not completely stupid. As a soon-to-be sophomore, I've only made 1 B in school (this includes elementary). Also, the B was made in bio in my freshman year (I forgot to write my name on one of my tests, which resulted in a 0 :( brought my 95 down to an 88). I can memorize 100+ obscure, weirdass words per hour (which I do about twice weekly for my SAT prep classes). With hardcore studying and dedication, I've been able to do just about everything.

However, in things that require natural ability / intelligence, I am just a complete failure. I really want to go to a top tier college, but I'm beginning to realize that solely relying on hard work isn't going to cut it.

.... Well now that I've typed all this out, I don't exactly know what my point was. Just a passive rant, I guess. Anyone else feel like this?

Waste of time. Get Direct Hits for vocab. It’s 400 words and unlike most 1000+ word lists, they are actually on the test.

Like what? Very few things can’t be learned, and you seem to be able to learn well.

This is a postulate. Having a good work ethic for college is probably more important than being intrinsically smart.
