Worst AP Cramming Ever?

^Hey stupid freshman. @Weeknd. Take one AP class and then talk. All the other AP veterans think I can do it, and I am doing it, and I hope to get 5’s. So please shut your mouth.

^Minor correction: I think you can do it, but not if the times you gave in the op are accurate. I don’t think you really need 4 hours for EACH Physics C chapter.

You might be able to do it, but it’s going to be very difficult regardless, especially if your goal is to get 5’s on all of them. You should be able to get 5’s on at least some of them (the subjects you’re good at), but just like garfieldliker said, you don’t need 4 hours for each physics C chapter. You may want to re-prioritize your studying if you want to get 5’s on all of them.

If you don’t want peoples’ honest opinions, what is the point of posting this? Are you planning on taking all of these tests in May/June? Can colleges see test dates when you forward results? Cos this just screams to me of “I AM TRYING SO HARD TO IMPRESS YOU PLEASE LOOK AT ME PLEASE!!!”

New Revision of Times: (Since I have amassed 7 Barron’s books for all my AP’s, that will my main resource for all 8 of my AP tests.) This will be my final strategy for studying. At this point, I only want to know if I need to put more/less time on each chapter and what my chances are of getting a 5 on EACH exam with the following strategy.

AP Chemistry (Taking in School-B Average Throughout the Year):
Barron’s Chemistry-16 Chapters (1.5 hours/chapter), 2 Practice AP Tests

AP Calculus BC (Taking in School- A- Average Throughout the Year):
Barron’s Calculus-10 Full Chapters (1.5 hours/chapter), 2 Practice AP Tests

AP Comp. Science A (NOT Taking in School-My Worst Situation-Don’t Know Any Programming)
Barron’s AP Computer Science A- 9 Chapters (1.5 hours/chapter), 2 Practice AP Tests

AP US History (NOT Taking in school-learning from scratch)
AMSCO US History Book- 30 Chapters (1 hour/chapter), 2 Practice AP Tests

AP Physics C: Mechanics and AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism (Taking an honors physics course in school-covers all AP Physics C material but WITHOUT calculus)
Barron’s AP Physic C-20 Chapters (1 hour/chapter), 2 Practice AP Tests for each subject

AP World History (Taking and honors world history Course-covers everything through WWI)
Barron’s AP World History-34 Chapters (1 hour/chapter), 2 Practice AP Tests

AP English Language (Taking Honors English II Course with TONS of vocab, writing, and reading hard literature)
Review Rhetoric Vocab, Cliff’s AP English Language and Barron’s AP English Language (9 hours per review book), 2 Practice AP Tests

FYI: The totals for time are 186.5 hours for all this with approximately and average of 8 hours and 53 minutes being spent each day studying for all these AP’s including taking 16 practice tests total (2 hours each). With 7-4 being counted as being in school and going there and back, 9 hours a day are spent there. I plan on sleeping 2.5 hours a night during the weekdays and 3.5 hours of sleep per night each day during the weekend. I believe that this is MUCH more reasonable than sleeping 1 hour a day and of course I will go to 4 hours/night of sleep during the summer to recover from these three weeks.

You’re going to break down well before you get into the AP testing room with that type of schedule. Is it really worth it?

You clearly haven’t ever slept for 2.5 hours for over a week if you think that sleeping 4 hours a week will “make up for it”. I promise you that if your not getting 5+ hours of sleep nightly (and making up for it on the weekend) you’ll be too burnt out by AP week to score 3’s on these exams.

Also, as many have already said you shouldn’t be devoting equal time (or any time at all) to AP’s your taking in school. If your getting an A in calc BC your more than prepared for a 5 on the exam. Chem you should take both AP exams and go over whatever you got wrong (no review though). For Lang look at a sample free response and maybe an essay that scored a 9. Besides that you should be fine assuming you are a strong english student. All of my AP classes have reviewed for tests in class but I guess yours don’t.

Barons AP Comp Sci will not prepare you to get a 5. Just because the book says “everything you need to get a 5” doesn’t guarantee it at all. Devote time saved from calc BC and lang studying for the exam.

And you don’t have to attack everyone that tells you you can’t do it. Last I checked until you get your score report, you have no place in trying to put others down.

@cc123sb: I don’t really care what you have to say about my sleep which is much better than 1 hour a night like I planned to do. Yes, I only sleep 3.5 hours a night usually and take a 30 minute nap after school. I realize that none of these books will “guarantee” getting a 5 on any of these exams and I realize that I’ in an uphill battle. I was just getting mad at a freshman who was talking out of complete lack of experience and merit; I am taking other’s advice FYI. I am simply asking if the following plan will MAXIMIZE my chances of getting a 5 on each of these 8 subjects. Also, why do you say that Barron’s an doing 2-3 practice AP tests is not enough to have a good chance of getting a 5 on the AP Computer Science A exam?

You’d be much better off cutting most of the studying time for AP Calculus and Chemistry. You’re pulling off A’s and B’s, which means you are most probably ready to take the exam. Only review topics you’re having trouble in. Forgoing the Calc and Chem studying saves you up to 39 hours.

Also, I have to agree with cc123sb, Unless you already know Java or C, Barron’s alone will very likely not get you a 5. How well do you know programming?

I was just saying there is a good chance you won’t get the desired scores (5s) and maybe not even pass a few. Its not just my opinion here im pretty sure that cramming all that information for like 8 AP classes won’t process as well as if you only did 4 or 5

Weeknd, I appreciate your kind tone now, but you still have 0 AP classes on record. Also, I am a pretty good crammer. @Rspence, if you look at my time calculations, you’ll see that I can put in an additional hour each day till the the AP Computer Science A exam. Please tell me what other resource/activity I could utilize/do in order to have a very good chance of having a 5 on the AP Computer Science A exam. All I know is what a CPU is and what a computer is, btw (no experience whatsoever with programming).

Learn Java.

'Nuff said.

mista doctor? you got ambition. nice. for apcs, there’s no way barron’s prep book will be able to pull you though, especially consider that you have no programming experience at all. thats kinda crazy. listen to cc123sb. unless of course, you’re a genius. but pure cramming skills will not be able to grasp what the ap test will be looking for.

dude I have a question though. hows apush studying going? if you pull a 5 on this test, you can have all of my respects forever and ever. thats pure epicness. I’m studying my butt off for apush and the sat subject test, despite the fact that I have a very efficient and knowledgeable teacher.

I think I can speak for everyone in wishing you the best of luck in studying. and we really want to know how you do.

Would knowing the entire Calc AB curriculum be enough for the C Mechanics test? If not, what parts of BC are also covered and under which chapters?

Based from my experience on physics C, I don’t think you need a lot of BC material. You might have to solve differential equations or integrate a function, but no Taylor series involved.

Just so you know, AP Comp Sci probably won’t get you college credit where ever you go because most colleges don’t use Java. I also doubt that colleges will be impressed considering that it’s equal to an intro semester course in college.

Guys, keep him occupied! All this time he’s spending “getting advice” could just as easily be spent studying!

um first off lets not judge how smart ur, but i dont really think u understand what study truly means. and plus things like physics c cant be done in merely weeks. u actually need to try to do well. well if ur aiming a 3 tho that’s possible. and i think most of these classes deserve ur respect and time. pls try a bit harder.

ugh guys stop wasting your time responding to this guy; he’s obviously a troll
