<p>Is it worth it to mention big family issues somewhere on your application if it affected your grades? If so, where would you mention it? It largely affected my grades for the first half of junior year, so I am not sure.</p>
<p>there should be an additional information section. if you can make it into a good essay, then thats always good too. if its something minor, dont mention it</p>

<p>It's best if your GC mentions it, but if you can't get your GC to do that, write a letter or included it in special circumstances.</p>
