Would an engineering degree from Cornell close doors on an Investment Banking career?

I am interested in both electrical engineering and finance and hope to eventually work as an investment banker for a top bank.

That being said, would it be possible to work as an investment banker after receiving an ECE undergraduate degree from Cornell and then an MBA from a top 10 business school? Or would I stand a better chance if I major in economics, at say Dartmouth, and then went on to get an MBA?

I know its kind of a specific question, but any advise is appreciated. Thanks!

ORIE would be more business orientated. Consulting and banking recruit decent amount of ORIE graduates each year.
I think absolutely you would be able to get an IB job with a Cornell undergrad engineering degree and an MBA from a top school, as long as you had a very good gpa. It might even be possible w/ just a BA or BS.

My D, a recent ILR grad from Cornell, is now working in S & T in trading at a top BB. She had a very high gpa. Both of her Cornell grad apartment mates work in IB at top BBs. But they were business majors.

My D wanted to work in trading and not the banking side of IB. So I have no knowledge of getting into the banking side of IB as an undergrad of Cornell with a non-business degree.
