Would colleges rather see i self-studied ap psych junior year OR took dual enrollment psych at a community college as a senior?

so basically im a junior and I’m currently self-studying ap psych, but this year all exam payments are refundable. i can stop self-studying right now (and get a refund) if i do dual enrollment next year as a senior of basically the same course (but this time like not self-studying): im planning out senior year courses right now:

AP English IV
AP Calculus AB
Dual enrollment psych at community college
Honors Physics
Research in Science
maybe: AP Statistics

so: would colleges rather see i self-studied ap psych junior year OR took dual enrollment psych at a community college as a senior?

THANK YOU!!

Self study AP tests aren’t very compelling, but generally an AP class > DE class. Can you take AP psych at your HS next year?

Community college > self study AP

100% class > self study for the US.

no, ap psych is not offered at my school

even as a senior? dont colleges want to see “intellectual vitality”, i.e. trying to take / self-study subjects that interest me in HS? if i do DE in senior year will colleges view it still the same

Given that, your choice seems to be between DE psych (Can you do that this summer? If not, during the school year is fine) or taking another social studies class at your school senior year. Does your school offer AP Econ? Or any other AP/Honors social studies courses that appeal?

They much prefer you show your intellectual vitality via aceing the class. Self studying when there is a course option does not impress them, especially when there are no scores to validate.

I won’t even touch on the fact that AP Psych is the easiest AP to self study, IMO.

no ap econ. only ap art history which seems terribly boring. if i take DE over the summer, will it go on my transcript that is sent to colleges?

so what do you suggest i do? thank you.

Take the DE course if you are interested in it.

If not on your HS transcript (and for some colleges even if it is on your HS transcript), you would need to submit the DE transcript.
