So I’m currently pursuing a B.S. in geography with a minor in ecological restoration and a certificate in GIS. I would like to eventually get a master’s in horticulture so that I could work for a vineyard. Would this be possible and/or a good idea?
Just make sure that you pick up the pre-reqs for the MS level courses and you probably will be fine.
Are you sure you need the MS though for the work you want to do? You might just need a couple more career related classes.
You may want to check out master’s in viticulture and enology, which are specifically about wine growing and management. UC-Davis, Oregon State, Washington State, Cornell and Cal Poly (through its MS in agriculture) all offer graduate degrees in this area.
I agree, though, that you may not need a master’s.
