Would I fit in?

Hi! I’m a junior and I made a preliminary college list solely based on rank, academics, size etc… I want to start visiting schools but I’m not sure if all of them are worth seeing if I know right off the bat I wouldn’t like it.

I’m lean more conservative in my political views so a super liberal campus would probably bother me. One where it doesn’t make too much of a difference I wouldn’t mind. I would prefer a more social school with parties and good sports teams. I don’t plan on joining a sorority but I don’t mind greek life having a presence on campus. Rural isn’t really my thing unless its very close to a city. Suburban/urban doesn’t make a difference but A CAMPUS IS A MUST. Colleges that are just buildings in the city don’t appeal to me. Small-medium sized schools are ideal.

So can anyone look at my list of schools and tell me ones that don’t meet my criteria at all, and to that note, ones that seem like perfect fits? Thank you!

** I know the suny schools are very rural and large but they’re on there because of affordability

OH AND GRADE DEFLATION. I plan on applying to med school so somewhere with MAJOR grade deflation definitely would not work.

Some of these schools don’t fit your criteria (for example, Bowdoin - liberal and not into sports, or Chapel Hill - a big school) and others are a reach for all applicants (Brown, UPenn). Hard to advise without knowing your stats and what you can afford.

Grade deflation tends to be controversial. Not all people are convinced it exists at schools some claim are known for them.

@katliamom I didn’t put stats because I didn’t want this to be a “chance thread” it was more because I need to start planning visits and don’t know much about the atmospheres and I’m sure there’s some I definitely won’t like and don’t wanna waste money visiting.

Well, at least you’ve limited yourself to one coast  Makes visiting campuses easier!
