would it be good to do a double major in industrial engineering and finance?

IMO, it’s a good combo… eventually.

The problem with double majors is that you are inevitably hired for only one of them, not both. I can’t even remember seeing a job description in my job searching that says “must have BS in XZY and ABC”. In addition, the jobs you can get with a finance degree, in some cases, you can also get with an industrial engineering degree. So, it all depends on what you want to do. If you want to get into middle management quickly than IE might have a leg up. However, middle management is nowhere to live forever.

I say eventually because a better combo would be a BS in IE and a MBA or, if you aren’t patient enough, a Masters in Finance, or both MSF than eventually an MBA. A Masters in Finance has less emphasis on work experience for admittance is only a year long. It might even be a good idea to get your BS, a job, and take 2 years going to school part time for the MS Finance, work 2-3 more years earning promotions, and then go for your MBA.
