Would it be unreasonable to attend a community college out of city?

I currently reside in Sacramento. I plan on attending a community college first and then transfer to a UC or even a USC if possible. Problem is, I want to move out and explore the state. Im sick of Sacramento. I'm currently a senior and I plan on pursuing my plan in So Cal after i graduate. Would it be unreasonable to attend community college out of city? If not then what commutiy colleges do you reccomend? I was thinking Orange Coast or even CCLA. I can also be close to my brother since he attends UCLA. Any advice/info would be great !

Lots of people do it. Particularly in San Diego and Santa Barbara.

Why not go straight to a CSU, maybe Long Beach?

Actually it’s not unreasonable. It teaches how to live on your own and independence which will all be stuff you need to be able to do when you transfer out. Do you think your brother will be okay with letting you stay over? You could always help by em paying rent which is always great. I lived close to Sacramento and as a [always] Norcal kid, I can tell you that living in Westwood (UCLA) and Orange County is MUCH more expensive. That’s on the real. Do you think you’d be able to afford that?
