A genuine question about leadership roles for college applications:
Would you count a waiter/waitress as a leadership role? Say that you are the Front Line/Head Waiter and you seem to fit in this person’s personal experience description:
“While a waiter on writing seems much like a job, I can tell you that it very much builds a leadership role on you. I am to take care of the front of the house and make sure everyone gets seated and everyone gets their food. That at rush hours, I must keep a straight head and have learned that I should never tackle everything alone if it gets too overwhelming. I have to communicate with my fellow servers and the chefs at the sushi bar and the chef in the kitchen to make sure food are delivered at the right time and I have to interact with the customers to manage their patients and listen to their concerns. I am responsible any problems as the front line and the customers well being.”
( I heard about this first from this website https://www.theodysseyonline.com/waiter )
Also, Consider this situation and tell me if you would count TA as a Leadership role. “I used to be a Teacher’s assistance over the weekend at a foreign language school. I help teach kids in learning (insert language). While this may not seem like a leadership role where you work with peers, I work in my classroom as the veteran TA. This year, new TA just started in my class and is learning how to do things and be responsible for the kids. I am there to help him and guild him because he doesn’t really know how to work with the kids that much.” Honest opinion, would this be a leadership role? Why or why not?
Thanks!
