Would Johns Hopkins be a good choice?

I am planning on starting my own personal training business after college, which means I would major in some type of business or economics (possibly with focus in entreprenuership?) as well as a possible double major or just classes involving exercise science/nutrition/kinsiology-type subjects. Would Johns Hopkins be a good choice for me? Any other thoughts? (Only considering Division 2 and Division 3 schools) Thanks.

anyone? thanks.

Hopkins is terrific preparation for many careers, but it is not the type of place which comes to my mind for your stated career goal. Most trainers that I know (this obviously is anectodal–I’ve not done a study) have a background in Physical Therapy–which is not something Hopkins’ offers. Obviously, a lot of physical therapy goes on at Johns Hopkins Hospital and I believe that students of physical therapy at other universities may do internships at JH Hospital but Hopkins, to my knowledge, does not offer degrees in physical therapy. You are more likely to find this at a good public university–which will also likely be much less expensive than a place like Hopkins. I also understand that there are some excellent trainers who work for the Hopkins’ Department of Athletics but I rather doubt that many of them have Hopkins degrees.

You should probably talk to actual trainers who are doing what you want to do and ask them for more specific advice.

We are both talking about personal trainers, not athletic trainers, right? Thanks.
