I have a hard time choosing between UCLA and UCSD.

UCLA has a great city (LA), a good name, a higher ranking overall, a lower MD ranking

UCSD is less busy of a city but has more volunteering opportunities, a decent name, a lower ranking overall, a higher MD ranking

Which one should I choose? :(

Why are you looking at the med school rankings for undergrad choice?

Besides, why do you think that UCLA SOM is ranked lower than UCSD SOM???

I agree with mom. Also do not agree that there is any difference in volunteering opportunities.

Choose the one that, after visiting, feels more like your place, like you have found “your people,” choose the one where you will be the most successful and that includes being happy along the way.

Some ranking organizations place UCSD higher in biology than UCLA, maybe that is what the OP means.
