Good luck with college, glad I could be of some help. :)

aworldofcool, would you like to read my essay to okay it? I don't know. Now I'm growing ambivalent over the "to write or not to write, to send or not to send" essay issue.

LovelyBonsai,

I've learned on the College Confidential LD board that UC Berkeley offers phenomenal support to students with LD's and physical disabilities, and that, at least a couple of years ago, when applicants indicated disability as explaining issues that arose in high school, their applications were considered separately and in a favorable light. Once the students are accepted and arrive, they receive tons of support and have counselors who help work with them to meet their needs in order for them to excell academically. You're in a bit of a different situation, but my suggestion would be to just up and telephone the office that provides services for students with disabilities at UCB, ask to speak with a counselor, describe your situation, and see what they think in terms of how far to go in being open in your admissions essays.

Thank you, AnonyMom. I most definitely will follow your advice.
