My school is not particularly strong when it comes to academics. Many of the AP classes at my school are unaccreditted and are taught by unaccreditted teachers. Consequentrly, they cannot be called Ap and are instead given the title "advanced." The advanced level courses at my school are a level above honors and we are taught at an AP level. The material we are taught does not always adhere to the AP test and the teachers don't know what they are doing, but we take the AP test at the end of the year, regardless.

Here is the thing: The advanced courses at my school will not be weighed the same as an AP course unless the teacher goes out of her/his way to take the AP instructional course needed to become accreditted. The classes are weighed at an honors level if they don't take the course. Entering the second semester, none of my teachers have bothered to take the course, so my advanced level classes are still being weighed as honors.

Will these classes be viewed as AP courses by colleges? Would it be necessary to explain my situation to them?
